Teenage Healthcare Program
Teenagers’ common difficulties are compounded by these families’ vulnerability. The risks involved in a period characterized by boundaries, responsibilities, and decision making determine adolescents’ actions in their path to adulthood. Healthcare prevention and adequate information are key tools for every teenager.
Adolescents’ health is monitored by medical specialists via consultations, checkups, blood tests (including complete blood count, as well as uremia, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels), referrals for dental care (cavities and extractions), vaccination schedules, and even referrals for gynecology consultations when needed. This program also addresses other teenage issues, conducting preventive workshops on risk behaviors and protective factors that not only provide information but also offer a safe place for teenagers to reflect in order to make healthy choices.
