Holocaust Survivors Program in Universities and Special Workshops

IHRA – International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance

Fundación Tzedaká had the honor of presenting a special workshop during the IHRA Plenary Meetings held in Buenos Aires under Argentina’s presidency, bringing together heads of delegation, experts, and international partners.

The presentation highlighted the Foundation’s Holocaust Survivors Assistance Program. Melina Citwar, Coordinator of Activities and Workshops, represented Fundación Tzedaká alongside Gisela Fistein, Events and Activities Coordinator at the Holocaust Museum of Buenos Aires.

The workshop concluded with moving testimonies from Holocaust survivors, who shared their stories of arriving in Argentina and building new lives in the country.

AUJA – Argentine Jewish University Association

As part of an inter-university awareness campaign led by AUJA, Holocaust survivors participating in Fundación Tzedaká’s Holocaust Survivors Assistance Program have been sharing their testimonies with university students, creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue and reflection.

So far, Helene Gutkowski has spoken at Universidad del Salvador; Isaac Behar at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella; Josette Laznowski at Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA); and Máximo Simoni at Universidad del CEMA (UCEMA).

The initiative brings survivors’ experiences to younger generations, helping preserve Holocaust memory while encouraging reflection on its lessons and consequences.

AUJA is an independent network of more than 200 Jewish students representing over 30 universities across Argentina, promoting education, leadership, dialogue, and community engagement.
