On May 7th, we celebrated our annual event at the Moise Safra Center in New York, a very special evening dedicated to supporting Fundación Tzedaká’s work from abroad. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception on a sunny terrace, followed by a dinner in a full and lively hall.
In attendance were Gerardo Díaz Bartolomé, the Argentine Consul General in New York; Gideon Taylor, President of the Claims Conference; Jane Weitzman, Vice President of the JDC; Steven Rakitt, President of the Genesis Prize; and Hella Ezkenasi, President of the Jewish Community of Cuba.
Javier Suez, President of Fundación Tzedaká, shared an overview of the difficult social reality affecting thousands of people in Argentina, and the challenges we face in providing urgent assistance. Alongside Andrea Arditi Schwartz, Vice President of the Foundation, he presented a special recognition to the Claims Conference for its ongoing support. Gideon Taylor received the award and expressed his gratitude, praising Fundación Tzedaká’s impactful work with Holocaust survivors and its commitment to improving their quality of life.
We also honored the Friends of Fundación Tzedaká in New York, a group of compassionate and committed individuals who actively support our mission and help organize fundraising events. We are proud to recognize: Debora Benhabib-Puterman, Iván Derechinsky, Mariela Dujovne and Gabriel Melamed, Paul Eisenberg, Dalia Glazer, Nuni Grinstein and Marcelo Rubinsky, Tania Kiesel, Julián Kiguel, Federico Kogan, Nicolás Kogan, Haydee Lancman, Tatiana Melamed, Verónica Mijelshon, Matías Ringel and Lila Turjanski.
Guests also took part in a charity auction featuring unique experiences, led with energy and charm by Harry Santa-Olalla, “The Fundraising Guy.” The evening ended with Argentine music and the shared joy of being part of a generous community that transcends borders.
Thank you to everyone who, even from afar, chooses to extend a helping hand and make it possible for us to continue transforming the lives of thousands in Argentina.
