IOM TZEDAKÁ – Solidarity in Schools

We returned once again to Jewish schools with a new edition of Iom Tzedaká, a program that invites children to take the lead in a charitable action designed for them and to help children like them.

In elementary schools, students baked over 1,500 leicaj (traditional honey cakes) alongside guest chefs, which were later sold in each school. In high schools, students were invited to donate the equivalent of their daily lunch through donation boxes or virtual wallets.

All funds raised go toward supporting Fundación Tzedaká’s educational programs, which provide tutoring, scholarships, and ongoing support to hundreds of students across Argentina.

This year’s edition included 14 elementary schools: Beth, Bet El, Bialik Devoto, Bialik La Plata, Dr. Hertzl Bahía Blanca, Ilan School Oeste, Natan Gesang, ORT Almagro, ORT Belgrano, ORT Tigre, Scholem Aleijem, Tarbut, Wolfsohn and Yeshurun.

This year’s edition included 14 elementary schools and 6 high schools: Martín Buber, ORT Belgrano, ORT Almagro, Scholem Aleijem, Tarbut and Toratenu.

We’re deeply grateful to the volunteers who supported the initiative; to the guest chefs, to the schools, students, and families who joined once again and made it extra special. Chefs: Julieta Bari, Danny Bramson, Ana Maria Cabrera, Leila Doyni, Maria Noel Fernández, Vero Gochman, Jordi Klad, Andrea Kosoy, Ilana Mizrahi, Maximiliano Penayo y Daniela Stigol. Iom Tzedaká reminds us that solidarity is something that can be taught: when children help others, they learn that every small action has the power to change lives.
