Transfer of Provincial Social Program Management to Fundación Tzedaká
Fundación Tzedaká and the American Joint Distribution Committee—represented by its president Javier Suez and regional director Sergio Widder respectively—have signed an important agreement under which Fundación Tzedaká will assume full management of social programs across Jewish communities in various provinces of Argentina.
Starting in April, and progressively over time, the Foundation will begin directly implementing its Comprehensive Assistance Program in provincial kehilot, taking on full management in the following locations: Bahía Blanca, Basavilbaso, Chaco, Córdoba, Mar del Plata, Moisés Ville, Paraná, San Juan, Tucumán Jabad, and Tucumán, with the technical and financial support of the Joint.
The goal of this collaboration is to serve the most vulnerable families in the Jewish communities of Argentina’s provinces—improving their quality of life through monthly financial assistance and ongoing social support. This work will be carried out in coordination with local volunteers and professionals, creating a positive and lasting impact in the lives of these families.
The signing of this agreement marks the culmination of a collaborative process between Fundación Tzedaká, Joint, and the aforementioned communities.
For Fundación Tzedaká, this represents a deepening of our work in the provinces, where we already have a strong presence through the Community Medicine Bank, the Holocaust Survivor Assistance Program, and Educational Programs that provide school and meal scholarships as well as university student support.
“This is both an honor and a great challenge—one that represents a new level of national and federal scope for the Foundation’s social work. We are deeply grateful for Joint’s ongoing trust and support, which has been vital to our growth and development. We especially want to highlight Joint’s commitment to strengthening Argentina’s Jewish community and promoting collaboration among organizations in pursuit of continuous improvement,” said Javier Suez
“We’re pleased to once again be part of a new stage of growth for Fundación Tzedaká, just as we have been since the beginning. This is much more than an agreement between two organizations—it’s another step in building a strong network of mutual responsibility within the Argentine Jewish community, and in our view, among Jewish communities throughout Latin America,” said Sergio Widder.
