PESACH 2022 COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN

Due to the pandemics and the crisis,
over 40 Holocaust survivors joined Fundación
Tzedaka’s Help Program.

Now, more than ever,
we need to assist them, care for them, and protect them.

txt-audio1 My name is Adela, I’m Hungarian and I’m some years old, haha. In 1944, they took all the young people to do forced labor. My mom and I had to move to the ghetto, but one day, my mom told me to escape and get saved... She even ripped the Star of David off my clothes. I spent a month hidden in a basement until the city was freed. Later, I was able to travel to Argentina. During recent years, I could live thanks to my son’s help. But due to the crisis, he had to close his shop and he can’t help me anymore. I have trouble walking and I need help at home, I can’t be alone. That is why, after many years, I asked for help again.
txt-audio2 I’m Bernardo and I was born in Hungary in 1930. During the war, I was made to do forced labor while being very young. I was hungry and cold. I married another survivor, and we were able to rebuild our lives. She passed 4 years ago, and the pandemics found me all alone. Unable to leave my house, or to do any activities. I’m still afraid to go out because of Covid. I contacted Tzedaká, and they are making it possible for me to do some activities with a group of people like me, which helps me leave the house and have a more normal life.
txt-audio3 My name is Elsi and I was born in Germany. As Nazism advanced, life became impossible, and my parents obtained the documents necessary to escape to Argentina, to a rural colony. I still remember the difficulties we went through. Today, I had to turn to Tzedaká. The minimum retirement is my only income, and it's not enough with the constant rising prices. Once again, I feel the sorrow of needing help, but now I am confident I have whom to turn to, and I’m not alone.
txt-audio4 I’m Sara, I was born in Poland, and I’m a Shoah survivor. My family was one of the first to be taken to Auschwitz, but I was moved to Stutthof, to dig trenches. I was a child, and I was alone there until we were freed by the Russians. I came to Argentina in 1947. I could never forget it, but now the war in Ukraine is bringing nightmares. I asked for help from Fundación Tzedaká, and I hope I can get my life back on track. I wish for peace in the world, and in my life.

They need urgent care,
and you can answer to their call!
